Anfangs als 5-köpfige Band veröffentlichen Feline & Strange die Alben BEHAVIOUR (2011) und SCIENCE FICTION (2013) und heimsen viel Lob der nationalen Presse ein.
Im Herbst 2014 wird die Band vom bekannten Produzenten JASON RUBAL (Amanda Palmer, Frenchy & the Punk, Robert Smith, Garbage, Pandora’s Bliss, birdeatsbaby) im Internet entdeckt und eingeladen, in den USA mit ihm und BRIAN VIGLIONE (The Dresden Dolls, Violent Femmes, Nine Inch Nails…) das nächste Album zu produzieren. Natürlich nehmen Feline und Christoph, fortan als Duo unterwegs, die Chance wahr. So entstehen das 3., 4. und 5. Album: LIES (2015), TRUTHS (2016) und OUT (2017).
In 2015 regnet es dann auch noch Stipendien: Feline & Strange erhalten eine Tourförderung der “Initiative Musik”, und werden zudem im Juni vom musicboard des Berliner Senats zu einem Residenz-Stipendium nach Marseille entsendet, um dort Berlin beim 48 Chrono Festival zu vertreten. Außerdem spielt die Band 2015 und 2016 bei Steampunkfestivals in Italien, den Niederlanden, Deutschland und mehrfach in den USA, und startet eine eigene Festivalserie in Berlin: den STEAMBALL.
2016 wird die Reise fortgesetzt: zwei weitere USA-Touren und im Sommer erstmalig nach Großbritannien, wo F&S schon seit Jahren Dauergast im Radio sind. Die UK-Tour wird seitdem jedes Jahr wiederholt und ausgeweitet. Neben Festival- und Clubgigs in Deutschland, Belgien, den Niederlanden spielen F&S meist als Headliner und manchmal als Support für birdeatsbaby und Voltaire.
2018 tourt die Band erneut in Deutschland und UK und spielt auf mehreren namhaften nationalen und internationalen Festivals von WGT bis Edinburgh Fringe, veröffentlicht eine Kollaboration mit birdeatsbaby und arbeitet ab jetzt zusammen mit ihrer neue Drummerin Rah Fookinhell, die zuvor u.a. mit Amanda Palmer spielte.
2019 wird gemeinsam das sehnsüchtig erwartete 6. Album TRIGGER WARNING eingespielt, welches am am 4.4. 2020, auf dem Höhepunkt der Coronakrise, erscheint und von Presse und Fans als prophetisches Meisterwerk gefeiert wird. Die Release wurde wieder gefördert vom musicboard Berlin; der resultierende StReamball erreicht nicht nur Tausende von Zuschauern, sondern ebnet den Weg für F&S zu weiteren namhaften Streamivals, als Headliner und Berater.
In 2020 schreibt Feline ein komplettes neues Album – auf Deutsch! KUNST FORDERT OPFER liegt derzeit in der Demofassung auf Patreon und Bandcamp vor und erschien 2022 auf dem neuen Label foxy records.
Ach, und außerdem entstehen noch die Kollaborationen “Divided we stand” mit Poison Garden, Abney Park, Coppelius u.v.a. und “The Doll´s House”, eine EP mit birdeatsbaby und Sit Kitty Sit. Letztere inspirierte Feline dazu, einen Roman gleichen Titels zu schreiben, der im November 2023 auf Edition Outbird veröffentlicht wird. Parallel war Feline beteiligt and der Gründung des Steampunk Musik Kollektivs und dessen ersten Veröffentlichungen “German Steampunk Freakshow”, “Nachspiel” und “Steamokalypse”.
Nach dem fulminanten STEAMBALL VI, der 6. Ausgabe des hauseigenen Festivals, verlässt Drummerin Rah Fookinhell Ende 2021 die Band und die Musikkarriere. Kunst fordert Opfer. Und auf F&S kommt wieder eine Neuerfindung zu – es bleibt spannend.
2022 erscheint “Kunst fordert Opfer” auf Foxy Records/Samsonido sowie das Bild- und Tonepos “Requiem”, ein 20minütiger Film basierend auf der gleichnamigen Suite in 3 Sätzen, gefördert von der Initiative Musik. “Requiem” sprengt innerhalb von drei Tagen alle Rekorde der Band auf YouTube.
Derzeit arbeitet Feline am kommenden Album dank einer Förderung vom Musikfonds e.V.; das Album soll erstmals nicht als CD veröffentlicht werden, sondern in Form einer Multimediaperformance, die trotz Verzicht auf physische Tonträger das Format “Konzeptalbum” am Leben erhält.
Felines visuelle und theatrale Arbeit erstreckt sich von der Bühnenperformance über die schockierenden oder tränentreibenden Videowerke bis hin zur Poesie als Kunstbuch; ihre Karriere umfaßt außerdem Kollaborationen mit diversen internationalen Musik- und Theateracts und Auftritte von Edinburgh Fringe bis Schaubühne Berlin.

Feline Lang, well known opera and tango singer, got bored of each and started writing her own songs. She was quickly joined by punk cellist Christoph Klemke. With the first incarnation of the band as a 5-piece they released 2 longplayers, collected hymnic reviews, and were introduced into the Steampunk scene.
The band was discovered in Autumn 2014 by US producer Jason Rubal (Amanda Palmer, Frenchy & the Punk, Robert Smith, Garbage, Pandora’s Bliss, birdeatsbaby…) who invited them to record an album with him and the gorgeous drummer Brian Viglione (Dresden Dolls, Violent Femmes, Nine Inch Nails…). Three albums were the result of this collaboration over the course of the years: LIES (2015), TRUTHS (2016) and OUT (2017)
In 2015, awards and funds start raining down on the band. The German Bundestag throws money at them to travel the world, and Berlin Senate sends them to a residency to Marseille, France, to represent Berlin at the 48th Chrono festival.
The band’s successful journey continued in 2016: two more tours through the US and then in summer a tour through the UK, where F&S‘s songs had already been played regularly on the radio for years. The UK tour was repeated and expanded every year since then. The very loyal fan base there grew rapidly. In addition to festival and club gigs in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands where F&S mostly played as headliners. They also went on tour with Voltaire, as his opening band.
In 2018 the band toured again in Germany and the UK and played at several well-known national and international festivals from WGT to Edinburgh Fringe, published a collaboration with birdeatsbaby and found their new drummer Rah Fookinhell, who also previously played with Amanda Palmer. In 2019 the eagerly expected 6th album TRIGGER WARNING was recorded, again at Seventh Wave Studio in Pennsylvania, US. It was released on April 4th. 2020, at the height of the corona crisis and nevertheless celebrated by the press and fans, as a prophetic masterpiece. The release festival Streamball V was again funded by musicboard Berlin. Because of The Big C it was last-minute but successfully turned into an online festival instead, the StReamball. The streaming festival starring several international acts reached thousands of viewers around the world and paved the path for F&S to other well-known streaming events, as headliners and even consultants.
The (so far) six records are tied together in a mutual plot and backstory. Every release was highly acclaimed by press and audience in Europe and the US, and found their way especially into the shelves of artist colleagues, not least because of the extraordinary artwork.
In 2020 and 21, Feline wrote a full new record – in German (including English versions of most of the songs)! KUNST FORDERT OPFER was released November 2022 on new label Foxy Records.
Oh, and besides all this, Feline collaborated on “Divided we stand” (with Poison Garden, Abney Park, Coppelius and many more), “The Doll´s House” EP with birdeatsbaby and Sit Kitty Sit, which in turn inspired Feline to start writing a novel of the same title which is currently released chapter by chapter on patreon. And she took part in the founding of the Steampunk Musik Kollektiv, and the first two releases “German Steampunk Freakshow” and “Nachspiel”.
After the formidable STEAMBALL VI, the band´s own festival, in 2021, drummess Rah Fookinhell leaves the band and her music career for good. Art demands sacrifice – and F&S steer towards yet another reincarnation.
2022, Kunst Fordert Opfer was released, and its EP “Requiem”, released as a 20-minute-movie funded by Initiative Musik, topped all the band´s previous achievements in only three days.
These days, Feline works on her new album funded by Musikfonds e.V.; this one will not be released as a physical disc for the first time, but still keep the “concept album” format alive through a multimedia performance.
Feline’s visual and theatrical work spans from stage performance via the shocking or tearjerking videos to poetry as an art book; her career also has seen several international collaborations in music and theatre; she was awarded and funded, and worked for renowned places and events like Edinburgh Fringe and Schaubühne Berlin.

C’est en 2011 que Feline & Strange ont sorti leur premier album, dans la brume du mouvement steampunk. Aujourd’hui, le groupe berlinois de wave cabaret est en tournée en Europe, au Royaume-Uni ainsi qu’en Amérique du nord. Le groupe est composé de la chanteuse d’opéra, pianiste et productrice de très mauvaise humeur – selon ses propres déclarations – Feline Lang, du violoncelliste métal Christoph Klemke et de la batteuse punk Rah Hell. Cette dernière a complété cet formation d’artistes à la fin de 2018.
Le 4.4.2020, Feline & Strange ont sorti leur 6ème album « Trigger Warning »: un tour en montagnes russes effrayant et puissant, entre un cabaret punk au piano et un puissant dark wave électronique à travers les abysses de l’humanité.
